Yesterday they started to build the Ice Palace!!!!
They are doing it differently this year since the theme is Pirates of the Adirondacks.
This will be a ship.
These are the folks out there this morning at 8:30 cleaning off the ice.
They said the ice is 14 inches thick!!

Yea! Ice Palace! I think we're going to be able to at least *see* the thing. We won't make Carnival, but we're coming up a few weeks after. I thought they decided against the Pirate thing and decided on something else. Maybe not. I'm probably confused. Okay, I'm *usually* confused.
Maybe someday we'll come up for the Winter fest or whatever they call the "Come one come all freeze your arse off."
Very exciting indeed. I'll look forward to seeing your pictures from the warm and cozy comfort of my family room. :)
